FIERCE Adds Frierson ('21 Alum) to Staff

In a full-circle moment for FIERCE United, the club has added alumni Brooke Frierson to the coaching staff. Brooke joined FIERCE United in its infancy, playing with the club's pioneering 2003 age group that laid the foundation for the club today. Brooke Frierson will be joining FIERCE as a Goalkeeping Coach alongside their former coach Nicki Swanson.

Coach Brooke grew up playing soccer throughout Central Texas with Sting, Austin Texans, FIERCE United, and South Texas ODP. They played collegiately at The University of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, New York, where their team won the 2023 Skyline Conference and punched their ticket to the NCAA D III tournament. Currently, they are working towards a Masters in Community and Regional Planning at The University of Texas at Austin.

Brooke's former coach and current FIERCE GK Director Nicki Swanson had the following to say:

I am excited to have Brooke on goalkeeping staff! Brooke's journey has come full circle as she is a former goalkeeper for FIERCE.  I know Brooke's passion to share their knowledge and great energy will help shape our future goalkeepers.

Coach Brooke shared their thoughts on stepping into this new role:

I'm thrilled to be returning to FIERCE and to have the opportunity to learn alongside coaches, players, and parents. I look forward to investing my time with young goalkeepers as they develop their own unique style, voice, and leadership skills.

Coach Brooke's hiring marks a major milestone for FIERCE: it is the first time a former FIERCE player has returned post-graduation to develop the next generation of club players. FIERCE Staff is ecstatic to welcome one of their own back as a coach, and looks forward to seeing the ways Coach Brooke pulls from previous experience as a FIERCE player and college goalkeeper to develop current goalkeepers.
