
Meet The Team

Executive Director
Nick Marquez

Coach Nick led the team that founded FIERCE in 2019. In addition to serving as Executive Director, he currently leads FIERCE National League & Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) teams. He grew up playing competitive soccer as an attacking midfielder in New Mexico, winning 8 state championships across his club and high school sides, captaining those teams, and earning All-State honors. He also regularly competed regionally as a member of the Olympic Development Program (ODP).
Coach Nick has over 25 years of experience coaching at the youth, high school (Brentwood Christian Academy), and competitive club levels. He also pioneered a soccer-based charter school that developed players who are now members of Austin FC Academy, FC Schalke Academy, US & Mexico youth national teams, as well as the US Youth Futsal international team.
Coach Nick was a National Hispanic Merit Scholar and earned a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. He spent 10 years managing leadership development at National Instruments before coaching full-time. Nick and his wife Sarah have three children who play at FIERCE and serve the community as junior coaches and referees.

Senior Board Member
Alyssa Studer
Coach Alyssa first joined the FIERCE family in 2019 as a coach. Currently, she serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors. Alyssa has been playing soccer ever since she can remember - pick-up games in the park, all-boys recreational teams, and later, with a club team that went on to win the Wisconsin State Cup multiple times and compete in the Midwest Regional League.
While working toward her undergraduate degrees in Botany and Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Alyssa co-founded the inaugural UW-Madison women’s club soccer team. She served as a player-captain with the team for three years. Alyssa currently works at the LBJ School of Public Affairs (UT-Austin) where she manages CONNECT, a nonprofit evaluation and student experiential learning program that she developed while in a previous position with the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation. Prior to transitioning to a career in the higher education and nonprofit sectors, she taught high school chemistry and coached women’s soccer and cross country in Fort Worth ISD and Austin ISD. She was also a member of the 2014 Teach For America – Dallas/Fort Worth Corps.
In her free time, Alyssa enjoys playing soccer any chance she gets, coaching three 2014 boys soccer teams, volunteering at the Botanic Research Institute of Texas (identifying plants!), and exploring Fort Worth with her husband, Toli, and their two little dogs, Mosley and Jax.

Kincaid Schmidt Hunt

Coach Kincaid joined FIERCE in 2023. She brings over a decade of club development and coaching experience. Prior to moving to Texas, Kincaid developed and implemented programs for boys and girls within MLS, USL, and NWSL academies. She specializes in fostering the holistic long-term development of players through age-appropriate learning environments and athlete-centered coach & parent education.

Kincaid most recently served as the Junior Academy Director at Louisville City/Racing Louisville Youth Academy as well as the W-League Head Coach for Racing Louisville FC. Prior to that, she served as the Zone 1 Technical Director for the Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club, where she oversaw total operations for over 4,000 participants and founded the Next Wave Coach Academy, which provided education and mentorship for the long-term advancement of women coaches.

In addition to her work with FIERCE, Kincaid serves as a mentor with Female Footballers, an organization committed to helping young female-identifying and non-binary players focus on the mental aspects of sports. She is a coach educator for the U.S. Soccer Federation and holds her USSF A Licence. Kincaid played soccer at Flagler College and earned a Bachelor's in Spanish & Political Science. Kincaid and her husband Joseph live in Waco, TX with their two dogs.

Director of Soccer Operations
Erin Lhomi

Coach Erin joined FIERCE in 2020. She currently serves as the Director of Soccer Operations where she oversees various programs including futsal, camps, junior coaches, and referees. Coach Erin is the lead coach for FIERCE 12G and FIERCE 13G. Growing up, she played club soccer, was part of Minnesota’s Olympic Development Program (ODP), and captained her high school varsity team.
She has over 15 years of coaching experience across Texas, Alabama, and Minnesota and is passionate about increasing opportunities for female players and coaches. Prior to joining FIERCE, Coach Erin worked alongside the Auburn University Women's soccer team as the Assistant Director of Operations helping to provide an environment for the team to be able to break program records, including a top 8 finish nationally in 2016. Additionally, in the past few years, alongside her husband Noah, she was able to help build a soccer field in a remote village in Nepal and hopes to help provide more opportunities for girls there in the future.
Coach Erin earned a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Auburn University. When not on the soccer field, she and Noah love watching football, kayaking, and cooking for friends.

Girls Technical Director
Kamille Cervantes

Coach Kamille joined FIERCE in 2019. She currently serves as the Girls Technical Director. Coach Kamille began playing soccer at the age of 3 right here in Central Texas. As she grew older, she played with local clubs in Pflugerville at the highest levels, on the Hendrickson High School Varsity team, and at Texas A&M University-Commerce. While playing on the Hendrickson High School Varsity team, her team made it to the playoffs four years in a row and Coach Kamille earned all-state accolades multiple times.
Coach Kamille has over 10 years of coaching experience, including holding a State Coach position for the South Texas Olympic Development Program, where she coaches the 2007 girls team and has a 2006 striker in the national pool. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Recreation management from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Coach Kamille and her husband, Raul, enjoy spending time with their two dogs, Rue (a Chiweenie) and Buffy (a black lab).

Academy & Futures Director
Carol Gittinger

Coach Carol joined FIERCE in May 2023 as the Academy & Futures Director. She is also the lead coach for FIERCE 09-10G Grey and FIERCE 12-13G Grey. Carol brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the club through her highly accomplished professional career and many years of playing, coaching, and refereeing soccer at the collegiate and local levels.
Carol attended Texas A&M University where she earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. She played for and captained their women’s soccer team. That particular Aggie team played in the first women’s national championship tournament and the last AIAW tournament.
After college, Carol was part of the South Texas select side at an identification tournament for the USWNT. Carol continued to play on select sides that competed at the highest level for adult women at the time, including the Veteran’s Cup (now USASA Soccer Fest). She continued her education and earned her MBA from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business. Most recently, Carol was Director, Technical Program Management at Dell Technologies.

Goalkeeper Director
Elizabeth (Nicki) Swanson

Coach Nicki joined FIERCE in 2020. She currently coaches FIERCE 08G Navy and FIERCE 09G Navy teams and serves as the lead goalkeeper coach. In addition to Coach Nicki’s coaching responsibilities at FIERCE, she also serves as the club’s College Coordinator, supporting players interested in continuing to play soccer beyond high school.
Coach Nicki played Division 1 soccer at Texas A&M as a goalkeeper and has over 18 years of coaching (including goalkeeper coaching) experience. Prior to joining FIERE, Coach Nicki coached with various other clubs in the College Station, Dallas, and Austin areas, as well as served as the Goalkeeping Director for the South Texas Olympic Development Program (ODP). Coach Nicki earned her Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science from Texas A&M and holds a Master’s of Kinesiology from the University of North Texas.
Outside of FIERCE, she is a Physical Education teacher at Ruth Barron Elementary School in Pflugerville. Coach Nicki is married to her loving husband, Clayton Swanson, and has two daughters - Kimber, who is currently part of the FIERCE Academy program, and Kacie, who is looking forward to joining FIERCE Futures.

Coach Christina joined the FIERCE family in the summer of 2023. She currently serves as the lead coach of FIERCE 10G as well as our goalkeepers.
Coach Christina grew up playing soccer in the College Station and Houston areas, competing for A&M Consolidated High School and Challenge Soccer Club. She then went on to play at East Texas Baptist University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Math and Athletic Training. Afterward, she attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University and received a Master's in Sports Administration. She moved to Dallas and started coaching high school soccer while teaching math.
In 2022, Coach Christina decided to relocate to the Austin area and work for Vandegrift High School to teach and coach. She has 5 years of experience at this level and is now in year 2 with South Texas ODP Goalkeeper Coaching Staff. In her free time, she enjoys time out with her friends and family and is looking forward to pouring into the development of our FIERCE players.

Lead Coach
Brian Cassidy

Coach Brian joined FIERCE in 2022 after spending 5 years coaching for FC Westlake. He currently leads the FIERCE 06G Navy and FIERCE 10B teams. Coach Brian grew up playing in the Classic League in Dallas, which at the time was the highest level of play in North Texas. He also participated with the North Texas Olympic Development Program (ODP) team. Following high school, he dove headfirst into music and earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Music and Human Learning from The University of Texas at Austin.
As a musician, Brian has appeared in The New York Times and Rolling Stone; on air with NPR, BBC, MTV, Austin City Limits on PBS, and NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien. He’s performed in nearly all 50 states and over 20 countries. In addition to coaching, Brian teaches private music lessons to about 40 students per week and holds a K-12 state teacher certification. He continues to play soccer as a center midfielder with the Austin Athletic Club and takes some pride in being one of the oldest players still playing in the open 1st division of the Austin Men’s Soccer Association. He’s been married for over 20 years to his lovely wife, Megan, and their two kids love playing for FIERCE!

Lead Coach
Abbie Gould

Coach Abbie joined FIERCE in June 2023. She currently coaches both FIERCE 11G Fearless and FIERCE 11G Empowered. Coach Abbie began playing soccer at three years old in Northern California. As she got older, she played select soccer, competing with the Northern California Olympic Development Program (ODP) and the US Youth Soccer Girls Academy. She played college soccer at the Dominican University of California.
Coach Abbie has been involved in futsal since the age of 10 and has experience coaching at her local futsal league for over 5 years. Aside from futsal, she has coached multiple youth and pre-ECNL teams. Outside of soccer, she works in Technology Sales. In her free time, she loves being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Coach Abbie is looking forward to being a part of the FIERCE family and helping her players excel on and off the soccer field!

Academy Manager
Rachelle D'Amico

Coach Rachelle joined FIERCE in the summer of 2023. She currently leads the FIERCE Academy girls program. Rachelle was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. Throughout high school, she played soccer, basketball, and field hockey. She then continued her soccer career at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI, graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Sports Management in 2014. Rachelle brings over 10 years of coaching experience at the Academy level. She holds a “B- Prep" license with British Columbia Soccer and has coached at varying levels in Texas, Wisconsin, and Canada.
In her free time, Rachelle continues to play soccer at the semi-pro level in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). Motivated to create a space for women to pursue their dreams, give back to the local community and inspire younger generations, in 2022, she co-founded Austin Rise FC, a semi-pro women’s soccer team in Austin. Rachelle and her loving husband, Jeremy, have been married for 7 years and have 3 children together. Jace, Cole, and the newest future FIERCE player, Riley.

Academy Coach
Liam Johnstone
Coach Liam joined FIERCE in July 2023. He currently leads the FIERCE Academy and Futures boys program alongside Coach Carol. Originally from Manchester, England, Coach Liam has taught and coached for 10 years across 7 different countries around the world, including Singapore and Qatar. Along with soccer, Liam has played a number of other sports including rugby, cricket, and American football. Coach Liam looks for opportunities to bring experience, knowledge, and passion to help others in all areas he can. Having taught and coached students from ages 3 to 22, he is excited to combine his passion and knowledge of soccer with his classroom experience to foster the growth and development of FIERCE players.

Performance Lead
John Hull

Coach John has been with FIERCE since it was founded in 2019. He serves as the Lead Performance Coach, helping to develop athletic qualities in FIERCE players to make them strong, fast, and injury resilient, and to help them develop a lifelong love of fitness. He holds Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and USA Weightlifting Level 1 certifications. Coach John played many sports growing up, including football, basketball, baseball, and swimming and played collegiate football for the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) where he was a member of 2 undefeated Ivy League champion teams. He was also a competitive adult amateur triathlete, winning numerous awards and competing in the Xterra World Championships. John graduated from Penn with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Economics and received a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. He has worked at Dell Technologies for 24 years in various engineering and management positions. John and his wife Chu have two kids: Sophia and Christian.

Performance Coach
Amie Vargas

Coach Amie joined FIERCE in June 2023. She currently serves as one of FIERCE’s two performance coaches. A native of Kyle, Texas, Coach Amie grew up playing defense for over 12 years for the San Marcos Area Youth Soccer Organization (SMAYSO). Throughout her time playing with SMAYSO, she developed a passion for health and fitness, especially after sustaining multiple injuries in high school. Upon graduation, Coach Amie attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where she earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Exercise Physiology and is now a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA. She is looking forward to helping FIERCE athletes build their strength and compete at the highest level!

Performance Coach
Jamie Vargas

Coach Jamie joined FIERCE in June 2023. She currently serves as one of FIERCE’s two performance coaches. Coach Jamie grew up playing soccer as a midfielder in central Texas and went on to play one year collegiately at Southwestern University, before transferring to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. During her time at UMHB, she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Exercise Physiology with Summa Cum Laude honors. Coach Jamie has been able to put her knowledge to practice through multiple internships involving youth sports performance, injury prevention, and basic strength training techniques. Currently, she is striving to earn her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification to help further her knowledge and skills. Coach Jamie is excited to be around soccer once again and is looking forward to helping all FIERCE athletes perform at their best!
